Trevoh Chalobah Expected to Take Over from Marc Guehi in Three Lions Squad
The Chelsea star emulated his sibling Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the 21st duo of siblings to be selected for the England side.
Trevoh Chalobah is set to link up with the Three Lions selection to fill in for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is set to join the national side for England's remaining World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, although it has yet to be made public.
The national side have already secured qualification for the upcoming competition.
Chalobah earned his initial selection under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.
In the month of September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the team for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally did not select him for the subsequent October matches.
Tuchel has been an key presence in Chalobah's career, having handed him his Chelsea first-team bow in 2021.
Chalobah has played in almost every matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team third in the English top flight, in the EFL Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the European competition.
Guehi picked up a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are set to be further call-ups to the squad. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has said that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will withdraw from the squad.
